22-25 September 2010

Lodging

Reservations for lodging need to be made directly with Timberline Lodge at 800-547-1406 (mention Eastern Pacific Ocean Conference for our group rates). Rates vary from $137 to $314 per night depending on the type of room. This price includes all meals, taxes, and gratuity. Contact Timberline Lodge for details. Timberline lodging reservations need to be made by 22 August 2010: after this date they will release our rooms to the general public.

Off-site lodging

If our Timberline room block allocation gets used up, one option for alternative lodging would be the Mount Hood Inn at 800-443-7777. This is at Government Camp, 4 miles down the mountain from Timberline, and you will need to arrange for your own transportation. You are still welcome to eat at Timberline, paying for each meal on your own in this case (except for the Thursday and Friday dinners, which are free).

Lodging and meals details

Wednesday arrival: We will have a check-in table in the main lobby starting at 4pm where you can pick up your abstract book, pass us your computer presentation, pay registration fee, etc. From 7pm-whenever, there will be an informal social gathering in the Ram's Head bar.

Wednesday dinner: If you would like to dine at the renowned Cascade Dining Room Wednesday evening (highly recommended), you should make table reservations in advance by calling 503-272-3104. Timberline lodgers will have a voucher for Wednesday dinner to a face value of $40 which they can spend in the Cascade Dining Room or elsewhere in the Lodge. Last seating in the Cascade Dining Room is at 8 pm, but late arrivers can eat in the Ram's Head Bar until 11 pm.

Box lunches:For those who prefer a picnic lunch outdoors, box lunches on Thursday or Friday are available by prior arrangement. Twenty-four hour notice is required, and you can make your request by emailing the meeting chair before the meeting. For those staying at Timberline, you will hand over your lunch ticket when you pick up your boxed lunch.

Timberline lodgers

Meal vouchers will be provided for Wednesday Dinner, Thursday/Friday lunch and Thursday/Friday/Saturday breakfast with face values of $40, $17.95 and $13.95 respectively. These vouchers can be used at one of several dining locations in the Lodge. The package includes a gratuity in addition to the face value of the voucher. Heavy hors d'oeuvres during the poster session (intended to be Thursday dinner) and the EPOC banquet (Friday dinner) are free, i.e. no voucher needed. So, depending on which nights you reserve a room at the package rate...

Wednesday night lodgers receive: Wednesday dinner ($40 voucher), Thursday breakfast ($13.95 voucher), and Thursday lunch ($17.95 voucher).

Thursday night lodgers receive: Thursday dinner (free), Friday breakfast ($13.95 voucher), and Friday lunch ($17.95 voucher).

Friday night lodgers receive: Friday dinner (free) and Saturday breakfast ($13.95 voucher).

Two drinks vouchers (for wine, beer, or non-alcoholic beverages) are provided to all attending the poster session. Some wine will be provided at the banquet, more can be purchased, and other drinks can be requested from your servers.
